Privacy Policy
HeyTask helps you track your habits. To do that we store your tasks and progress in your account. We only collect what the app needs to work, we never sell your data and we don't show ads.
What we store
- Account: your email address, your name (if you enter one) and how you sign in (email, Google or Apple).
- Your tasks and history: tasks, groups, schedules, the days you completed them, amounts, time off and your settings (like your streak threshold and reminder time).
- Subscription: whether you have HeyTask Pro and until when. Payments are handled by Apple or Stripe; we never see your card details.
- Friends: your friend code, who you’re friends with, and a score summary (today, this week, your streaks, event progress and the badges you earned). Only friends you accepted can see it, together with your first name. They never see your tasks.
- Problem reports: when you report a problem, we store your message, where it happened, the app version and your browser or device type, linked to your account so we can reply.
- Technical data: the servers we use keep short-lived logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the service secure and working.
Apple Health
If you link a task to Apple Health (HeyTask Pro), the iPhone app asks for permission to read activity data (steps, walking, running and cycling distance, floors climbed, active calories, exercise minutes, stand hours and time in daylight), your workouts, mindful minutes, sleep and water intake. HeyTask only reads the types you link a task to, and never writes to Apple Health. It only uses these numbers to fill in the linked task, so what is stored in your account is the task's progress for that day (for example 7,450 of 10,000 steps), not your Health records. Health data is never used for advertising, never sold and never shared with third parties. You can turn off access at any time in the iPhone's Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → HeyTask.
What we don't do
- No ads, no tracking across other apps or websites, no selling or renting of your data.
- Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone itself.
Why we use your data
Only to provide HeyTask to you: to sign you in, save and sync your tasks between your devices, calculate your scores, send emails you ask for (like your sign-up code or a password reset) and manage your subscription. The legal basis is the agreement between you and us (providing the service you signed up for).
Services we use
These companies process data on our behalf, only to run HeyTask:
- Supabase: database and sign-in. Your data is stored on servers in the European Union.
- Resend: sends our emails (sign-up codes and password resets).
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and our domain, and forwards email sent to our addresses.
- Google and Apple: only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Apple (App Store) and Stripe: payments for HeyTask Pro.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. When you delete your data or your account in Settings, it is removed from our database. Backups that may still contain it are deleted automatically within 30 days.
Your rights
You can see, change, export and delete your data at any time in the app or on the website (Settings → Export data, Delete My Data, Delete My Account). Under the GDPR you also have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Just email us at support@heytask.app. You can also file a complaint with your data protection authority (in the Netherlands: the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Children
You need to be at least 13 to use HeyTask. If you're under 16, please ask a parent or guardian for permission first.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For important changes we'll let you know in the app.
